Justice of the Peace Precinct 4’s primary function is to process Civil cases of Eviction, Repair and Remedy, Small Claims, Debt Claims all under our $20,000 jurisdiction and all Class “C” criminal charges filed by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Parks and Wildlife, and Anderson County Sheriffs. These include charges and filings under the Texas Transportation Code, Penal Code, Alcohol Beverage Code, Health and Safety, Education Code, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, The Texas Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Annual, Water Safety Act, and the Local Government Code.
The Court also has additional administrative duties.
