Welcome to Anderson County, Texas

Located in East Texas, Anderson County is the 56th largest of the 254 counties in Texas by land area at 1,062.3 sq. miles of land with a population of 57,863 residents resulting in a population density of 54.47 people per sq. mile.   Incorporated cities in Anderson County include the county seat of Palestine, Elkhart, and Frankston.  Anderson County falls within the 11th Texas congressional districts and the 3rd Texas senatorial district. Rainfall in the county averages 41.70 inches per year compared to the Texas average of 21.0 inches per year.  The County Judge is Robert D. Johnston who has been in office since 2010.
