Honorable Judge
James Westley

After growing up in Anderson County and graduating from Palestine High School, Judge Westley enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves and was trained as a Combat Engineer. In 1980, he transferred to the Texas National Guard, Armored Division and was Honorably Discharged in 1981. In 1982, Judge Westley enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard, Armored Cavalry where he remained until being honorably discharged in 1987. During this time Judge Westley was employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice from 1985 until 1998 when he was elected to his present position as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4. While working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Judge Westley attended and graduated from the East Texas Police Academy in 1994, and Trinity Valley Community College in 1995. From 1995 through 1997, Judge Westley was elected and served on as Palestine City Councilmen, District 4. Judge Westley has been attending the University of Texas at Tyler since 1995 and was elected to his current position as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 in 1998.
