Honorable Judge Jeff Duran

Anderson County Court at Law has concurrent jurisdiction with the district courts in family law, juvenile matters, and criminal cases.  It also has concurrent jurisdiction with the constitutional County Court on misdemeanor criminal cases, probate, and civil cases.

The jurisdictional civil limits for this court are $500.00 to $100,000.00

The court also has appellate jurisdiction over cases in justice courts and municipal courts. 

Mission Statement:

The courts desire is that everyone is entitled to a fair day in court, that we move cases and see that all cases are timely heard and all parties are given opportunity within the rules to present their case. 

Objective: To insure the orderly disposition of cases through proper court procedures.

 

Elizabeth Attaway Court Coordinator
Duties: 
Assist the public in person and over the telephone, answer questions, take messages, or direct caller as appropriate.   Coordinate the availability of attorneys, court reporter, bailiff, and other court personnel and other parties involved in the case;  Schedule criminal and civil court proceedings and maintain calendar; prepares dockets and send to defendants, attorneys, bondsmen;  maintains inventory of office supplies and reorders as necessary;  maintains records for jury selection and assists jurors in determining their eligibility for exemption;  maintain records of court activity

 

Misty McAdams Court Reporter

Duties:  Make accurate record of court proceedings and transcribe within a reasonable time: Note: A written request for the transcript and arrangements for payment must be made prior to transcription.   Mark exhibits and keep up with exhibits during trial
